Put the 62gr TSX to the test last weekend. Loaded with 26.0gr of H4895 @2850fps out of a 16" AR. I killed 10 hogs all runnning shots all exept 2 were one shot kills. Average weight was 120#s and all were heart lung shots. Recovered weight of all slugs were 61.7 grains and diameter was 51.5 caliber at largest and 48.7 at smallest.
The one thing I noticed about this bullet was its energy on target. It tranfered energy like no other 223 I have used. All the hogs were being chased by a helo so the adreniline was pumping. Numerous hogs were literally rolled with it. My buddy was using an FN in 308 and the knocked down was comprable to his gun. FOR THE RECORD I am not saying this bullet makes a 223 a 308!!!What I am saying is it makes the 223 a much more versitile and deadly cartridge. All 10 were autotopsied and full expansion was with in 1-1.5 inches. The wound channels were grewsome. Large swaths were cut in the flesh out to 2 inches on all sides and the skin was seperated around the entrance and exit out to 6 inches. There is a video on there website (and floating around AR somewhere) that shows the helenical wound channel in gelatin, it is noticeble in te flesh too! All in all everyone who saw its performance was impressed and shocked it was a 223.

Pictures are posted in American Big Game under "check out my new blind".

I've been curious about how those bullets would perform. I've been tinkering with the idea of getting some TSX's for my 22-250.

Been looking at that bullet too. The whitetail cull is over, Frist year I did not join the fun. I think this would work well in a 223 or 222. This work thing sucks. Big Grin Good report.

That has been my experience with Barnes also, energy transfer out of proportion to the caliber.

Good report.
