I just picked up a rra varmint with a 1 in 8 twist. Any of you have loads for this gun yet? Any bullets I should try?

the 60 gr vmax & the 63 gr sierra, for some reason or another my ar's really like both

Try the following loads the all shoot in the .5's in my Armalite M15 A4(T) with a 20" barrel with a 1 in 8 twist.

24.5 gr. of N133
50gr. Nosler B.T.
CCI-BR4 Primer
Win. Brass
OAL = 2.250"
Velocity = 3275 avg. fps.

24.8 gr. of N135
55 gr. Sierra BTHP
Rem. 7 1/2 BR Primer
Lake City Brass
OAL = 2.240"
Velocity = 3085 avg. fps.

24.5 gr. of N540
69 gr. Sierra MK
CCI BR-4 Primer
OAL = 2.250"
Velocity = 2750 avg. fps.

Hope this helps some. There are a lot of good powders for the 223. I just happen to have had better luck with the powders listed than all the others I have tried. Good luck with your AR.

PaPa 260

I have both the predator 20" and the varmint version in 24" barrel.

Both guns shoot the 50gr Nosler BT well and I am using H335 with 26.5gr I believe.

If you have the latest sierra reloading manual I am .1 gr above the max on H335 as listed in the AR section.
