How are Berger bullets in this round. Friend of mine is using 55 gr. imr4831 w/95 gr. Berger. Says they are extremely accurate. Thinking on working up load maybe to this. Thoughts? Thanks JP

What is the barrel twist, this matters more than the caliber?

What weight and design Berger are you going to shoot?

Between my granson and me we have shot a lot of deer with the 6MM-06 using 105-gr Berger VLD's. I get 3250 fps out of a Thompson-Center TCR-87 with a 26-inch custom barrel with a fast twist. That load works great for deer to at least 400 yards but the bullet is very fragile. Aim for the ribs as we had a bullet expload on a shoulder shot on a doe and not even get into the rib cage.

I don't know why you ended up with a 1 in 10 in a cartridge known for long range.

You might get 95 grain Bergers to shoot, I hope you do. But I'd try the 80's as well.

If you'd have used a 1 in 8 barrel you could shoot 115 DTACs and Bergers at pretty close to #3700 FPS.

The 95 grainer is a probably will. Maybe it will stabilize in your rifle and maybe it won't. You have the velocity with the 06 case capacity. You have to shoot it to be sure. If it was a mono-metal bullet, I've seen them run out of stabilization at 100 yds (sideways bullet in tgt with a .243 100grainer).

Sorry I haven't used Berger bullets in my 6-06, but it really likes the 87 grain Hornady HPBT, at around 3650fps. I have shot jack rabbits out to beyond 600yds with this rifle, and I am still learning it.

87gr vld works in 1 in 10. The 95gr classic hunter does too. All the required twists are on the website.
