Its burn rate is equal to H 4350...so performance should be similar.. but following Aliants lead in the last few years...I sure data is going to be conservative.. they run most of their load recommendations at around 47,000 CUPs instead of the usual 50,000 or more common with SAAMI specs on many cartridges...

A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him "Why do you carry a 45?" The Ranger responded, "Because they don't make a 46."

Thanks Seafire:

Did not know if it had any benefits over other powders i.e. easier to meter, temp sensitive, fouling, velocity/accuracy. Guess time will tell, but thanks for the info.

Also, what about the IMR....4007SC if that was spelled right? Any word there?

IMR is listing it as faster than 4350 and slower than 4320...

Guess for some reason they felt that they had a gap to fill..I don't...

Guess they thought it was needed to compete with a competitive powder... but since Hodgdon owns most of the major powders on the market now.. I fail to see the reasoning.. but I won't complain if another choice is available on the market..

Thanks Seafire, yeah, love 4320 the way it measures out, 4350 old style, what I am using up, must be measured to get the consistency I want if I get serious about accuracy loads, after that it will be short cut wherever available. Seems more enthusiasm towards the RL17 than 4007......

When you reload, always interesting if newer 'improved components' come out that have an advantage worth giving them a try.

Thanks.
