WADE MASONREM 597 .17 HMR NOT FIRING
JUST BOUGHT A REM 597 .17 HMR AND IT WILL FIRE ABOUT 6 OUT OF 10 RIM FIRES.I HAVE SHOT ABOUT 200 ROUNDS THROUGH IT. HAD 1 BULLET I TRIED 4 TIMES TO FIRE AND IT WOULDN'T FIRE,FIRING PIN HIT IT ON ALL 4 CORNERS.ANY SUGGESTION BEFORE I SHIP IT BACK TO REMINGTON?

This kind of problem is impossible to deduce over the internet.
Take it to your local smith and let him sort it out.

BiggestGunI have had a number of 597's returned with that problem. It is often due to excessive headspace. Don't bother your local gunsmith with this, let(rather demand) Remington take care of their screw up. In their defense, 597's are usually accurate enough, though most all 17's are anyways.
