Ok Ive been working hard on loads and shooting and the best I can do consistently is 1/2 grouping. I'm pretty sure this is the best I'm going to ring out of this Tikka varmint 22-250
My dilemma is I want to order a krieger barrel but not sure I want to put it on a tikka I like the smooth action and smooth factory trigger. it shoots well for a stock gun but there's something about the cheep recoil lug that worries me a little! its a square piece of removable aluminum that sits in a grove in the action and stock.
Should I re barrel it or find another action?
Should I keep it in 22-250 or go .243AI or 22-250AI I'm not into speed I just want a 1/4 group gun that will feed from clip dependably for hunting. I have two of these Tikkas now another in .243 pencil barrel

Some people say what they think!
Then there's those that say what they know!
And then there's those few that want to know everything!

Sell the tikka and get a Stiller action - would get you closer to your goal with an action designed from the outset for accuracy.

I agree
If ultimate accuracy is your game, then you need to start with everything aimed in the right direction. The Tikka's a great hunting rifle (1/2MOA) but you'll probably not find too many on the bench rest circuit.

A good book on the topic is "Precision Shooting at 1000 yards" by Dave Brennan
