Been playing with my new 25,06 for a little while now. So far i only have one load that it really seems to like. That is a 117 gr Sierra over some RL-22. It gives about half an inch. at 100, but its the only really good load I have had so far. I have loaded lots of bullets with RL-22 and RL-19 and a couple of the RL-19 loads were worth tweeking and trying again, but since my rifle has a long, 26 inch douglas barrel, I thought i would give some really slow powders a try. So I went with RL-25 and the 117 sierra and a 117 gr Hornady SST also the 110 grain nosler accubond,. I also bought some IMR-7828 SSC. I put that under some 100 grain tripple shock barnes and might put some 115 gr B-tip noslers on top of some more. What loads have worked well for you ? ...tj3006 freedom1st | ||

T.J. I got a Tikka T3 in 25-06 and so far I have found that H4831 over an Accubond 110grn is working GGGOOOODDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe that with some adjustments I can get a 200yd tack-driver. I like the Sierra 117 or Nos 115 BT over 56.0 of IMR 7828 or 58.5 of H1000, Berger 110 and 54.0 of RL22, Sierra 120 and 56.0 of RL25. 58.0 of N165 worked very well with most 100 gr. bullets. For a varmint load, I like the Speer 87 TNT and 57.0 of RL19. Some of these are max loads so reduce powder charges by 10% and work up accordingly. Don Stewart NRA Benefactor Life Member | |||

I use 49.0 gr of h4350 with 117 sierra's, 120 winchester hpts or 120 partations.. that gives a little over 3,000 fps.. The winchester hpts actually shoot better than anything else in my rifle but break up badly on small deer at close range. | |||

The -4831s bothe H and IMR seem to be good powders for the round. I will have to try The Hodgden first as i have some on hand. I will try it with the 110 grain accubond . it is a bullet i am excited about, I think my little featherweight ruger .257 roberts might like it too ! ...tj3006 freedom1st | |||

For years I've used IMR 7828 with excellent results using both the 100's and the 115 to 120's. Mark D | |||
