Finally saw 22 Federal 555 boxes for $29.95. Looks like all the hoarding is getting done. Anyone buying this box at $60-$75 got to be feeling great.

There are gonna be a bunch of suckers sitting on some really high priced rimfire ammo when this stuff clears up. We'll be buying it for pennies on the dollar from their widows!

Still not breaking loose here. Supplies are very limited and as soon as it shows up its gone in minutes. No place in driving distance that ever has any on the shelves.

Snellstrom,

This spring I was working in Lone Tree, Co and went into the Cabela's there weekly. They usually put out the 22 ammo on Wednesday's after lunch. It was generally gone fairly quickly, did see some on Thursday mornings but definetly gone by Friday.

$29.95 even seems pretty steep to me. I'm so glad I bought so much .22 LR when 550 round bulk packs were $9.99.

Havent seen a box of .22's on the shelf anywhere for over a year. My travels included several road trips were I stopped at every gun store I found.
Purchased a Browning lever action .22 at the local Sportsman Warehouse about 2 months ago and when completing the paperwork the clerk asked me if I wished to purchase ammo for it. After replying yes he went in the back and came out with 3, 100 packs of CCI's. Only bought it so I had another style of ammo for testing as I still have Federal bulk packs bought at Walmart for $8.97. Glad my father taught me to stock up while the gettin was good.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I feel sorry for all the people stocking up at 75 bucks a box. "A fool and his money is soon parted"

This bubble in 22 ammo has resulted in me not shooting my 22s in nearly 18 months.

I have a little stockpile from before but a run of 22 ammo is irrational and plain stupid.

No one is going to ban 22 ammo and there is no massive monetary or commodity inflation to justify stocking 22 ammo at 75 bucks for a box of 500.

Our idiot legislature included rimfire ammunition in the latest law to mandate lead-free hunting ammunition...

For years I was laughed at because every time I went into a store that sold ammo I would buy a box or two. Wouldn't break the bank but since I was there might get something.
Now I laugh when guys are telling me what they pay for stuff. I haven't bought anything but 416 shells since the shortage started and I can still shoot a lot.
