Since I have had such good luck with my first savage in a .223 Varmint rifle I was thinking of getting a 22-250 in their new low profile version. Anyone out there had any experience with the groups on this rifle?

Hello Mohunt, It's a redesigned model, new this year so you may not get much on it yet. I find it rather attractive, much more so than that blocky forend they had before. Being a Savage you can be fairly sure it will shoot well. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal Cal Sibley

I got one in a 204 and as Cal described it looks a whole lot better than the BVSS model. I have not started loading for it yet and may never as long as I can keep getting the factory ammo for $11 a box as it shoots great.

The 12 BVSS stock design is a WHOLE lot better than that of the low profile for position shooting. Some killer Palma rifles have been made out of stock 12 BVSS rifles in 308.

I had the first one that came to VA chambered in .204 a year ago......would buy another one in a heartbeat!! The next one may be 22-250!!! When you take a rifle out of the box, mount a scope, break in the barrel and do .5-.7" with factory stuff and then start loading and do .3's to .4's consistently(just did under 1" at 400 yards on Friday....what's not to like? Bedding isn't needed cause it comes "pillar bedded"! It's floated with a big enough channel to call a "float" and the darn things shoot!!! Savage has done their work!! And the barrels haven't been "beat to hell" in a hammer forging machine!!!! GHD Groundhog Devastation(GHD)
