| My 25-06 really likes the 100 gr. Barnes TSX pushing at about 3450 fps. This is a great all around bullet. I use it on coyotes and Deer down here in Texas mostly. |

| I may have already answered this ? on another thread, but if not, here it goes again: The Nosler 85 grain Ballistic Tip is tough to beat in terms of both accuracy and terminal performance. My second favorite is the Hornady 87 grain SP. You can't go wrong with either.

| I second Bobby's answer and ad a little insight also! The 90 grain SIERRAS can be pretty darn good in both the accurracy department and killing stuff "DRT"(dead right there)!!! The absolutely most intriguing bullet ever devised for the 25-06 was the old Winchester 90 grain Positive Expanding Point(P.E.P.)!! Talk about an "a..hole to earbone" bullet!!! The 87 grain REMINGTON Power Lokt Hollow Points were also very good bullets! You'd get some "launches" with either of those two! Don't know if your 11 twist will stabilize them or not but if it will the 100 grain SPEER HP will definitely "open a varmint up"!! GHD

| To boilerroom and others, try 50.0 grains of VARGET behind the 75 grain Hornady VMAXS!!! Pretty serious varmint medicine!! 3700fps from 26" barrels and accurracy seems to go from one rifle to another!!! And I'll "G'ronT" it will open a varmint up!!! I like the 85 Noslers, the 87 grain Remingtons, the 90 grain Winchester P.E.P's(not available anymore) but the VMAXS are bad news for varmints!!.....not to mention they are pretty darn accurrate in most rifles....regardless of caliber!!! | Thanks for all the input. I just started reloading so I have a lot to learn. Loaded some 75 Vmaxs with 55gr IMR4350 and they shot good except for one flyer in my 5 shot group. I want to try a different powder maybe H4831. Any suggestions Also,I posted before my Encore was 1-11 but it is 1-12 twist. |

The two bullets I use in all three of my .25-06's is for varmints the 85 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip and big game the Barnes TSX in the 100 gr. version for most uses and 115 gr. for bigger animals. Lawdog |
