Gentlemen,

the Germans have their 6x62 Frres. (Q.v: http://www.ladedaten.info/pulver/rws/page64.php3) However, this case is slightly fatter then the standard -06 case, and as I think, now obsolete. Are there any 6 mm wild cats built on a full length -06 case? I have searched for the 6 mm-06, but foung nothing.

Best regards,

Fritz

P.S. Im not asking for advice about calibre choice. I know about the .25-06 and 6 mm Rem. [Wink] Just curious. [Smile]

Yes there are Fritz. My "library" is is a different house at the moment, so I cannot give specifics. 6mm-06? Yes. Perhaps others can supply info.

The 6MM 06 holds only a tiny bit more powder than the 240 Weatherby and is actually practical in a long barrel. It is far less overbore than the 7MM RUM or 300 RUM and a snap to form from 25-06 brass. With a 28 inch bbl and AA8700 and the Barnes 115 it will rock your world, or you can shoot 6MM Rem velocities with reduced loads of XMP 5744 using a lower charge weight and with less recoil.

I've used a 6/06 quite a bit over the years-I do love the round.

Here are some quick speeds-let me know what else you would like.

25" Schneider tube

55 Noz-IMR4350==4400 fps
70 Noz-IMR4350==4000 fps
95 Noz-R22 or R25==3500 fps

I use a 10 twist, a couple of my buds use the 10 a couple of others use the 12.

MY last tube went 1700 rounds-pretty much all in the field. We've used them for deer/elk/lopes/black bears/and lot of chucks and yotes.
