| Yeah congrats. I've never won so much as a cup of coffee. I know I'd be dancing!

| Nice pull! The 257 is an awesome round for just about anything in the lower 48. Next to the 340, it's my favorite of all the WBY cartridges. Enjoy it well.

| Nice freaking prize ! slam a good chunk of glass on it. Load up some barnes 100 grain tripple shocks . The 115s might be better on game, but a 100 grain tripple shock at 3400 or better would be deadly farther than most folks aught to be shooting. The 115 tripple shock would be great on bigger stuff like caribu, (never shot a caribu but sure seems like a good load for the job to me) The partitions would be good to, but I have had better luck with the barnes in my 25s...tj3006

| Thanks guys I will have to get a scope and mounts ,hopefully soon as I want to work it out at the range, as the weather is so great now. I will give a range report when I can. Rug |

| Rug--the way you walked off with prizes, maybe you ought to go buy a couple of lottery tickets?

| quote: Originally posted by Rug: I went to the local chapter of the national Wild Turkey Federation dinner tonight and won a Weatherby Vanguard 257 wby. This was a real treat as I have never won a raffle at these type banquets, I also won a Buffalo leather overnight bag and a cordless Q-beam, all in the same night. I am very happy, I have an older 270wby mark V, and a moedl 70 in 375wby as you can see I really like speed and flat shooters, I think the 257 may be the best yet. Good hunting Rug
Very nice!! I'll echo TJ's advice on the 100 grn TSX's. |

| I won a .257 Weatherby MkV three or four years ago in a sales contest. It is a great shooter and perfect for open-field whitetails, antelope and mulies. With 72 gr RL22 and a 100 TSX, it goes over 3600 and shoots cloverleafs at 100. This load has worked for everyone who has tried it, but it is warm so work up to it.
