I want to return it under warranty at no cost to me. Are there any special instructions? I tried calling three times and got put on hold forever. I have a number of BSA scopes and this is the first one I've had any real problem with. I hope it is just a quirk and not a generallity. Roger J. Bartsche E-Mail replie We are sorry to hear that this has happened to you. It definitely sounds as if the optic may be broken. If this is a resent purchase within the last 30 days you may want to try to take the item back to the store you purchased it from for a quick exchange or credit as turn-a-round time with us is 2-6weeks.Unfortunately, there is nothing you are going to be able to do from home as the internal lenses are compressed with nitrogen. However to get your scope repaired or replaced under warranty, please review the warranty information and shipping address below so that we can repair the item for you in a timely manner. What you will need to send in with your scope is a copy of your purchase receipt and a check or money order for $10.00 to cover the cost of the return shipping. The rest is as follows; if you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to reciprocate by phone or via e-mail response. So far the letter has not been answered by BSA or Natchez Intend to post replies, if any, whither positive or negative. Ran into the same treatment with BARSKA a while back. It really is gauling how people can sell defective equipment and than exspect the buyer to incurr the costs associated with the repair or replacement. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! The last six scopes I have purchased have all been Leupolds.....and I have no complaints...so far. It's pssible the days of free repairs for the lifetime will come to an end.....but the idea that one has to shell out a dime to have a product repaired that was defective when you got it deserves the attention you have given it here.....the Good posting Roger! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." No offense, but with all the anecdotal eveidnece on this sight and others attesting to BSA's cheap construction and poor reliability, I don't understand why someone (especially an informed AR member) would waste their time and money on such a POS scope. Roger - I had exactly the same experience, almost word for word, with Simmons. As I had gotten the scope for nothing, I paid the $17 ($7 shipping to Florida, which I paid, plus the $10 for them to ship it back). You can bet your sweet tush that as a result I will NEVER, EVER, BUY a Simmons. I am now at the point where I only buy from makers who: 1) Actually make scopes (preferably in the U.S.) , not just import them, and, 2) Have an ironclad, clearly stated, warranty which they fully honour promptly & with a smile. I do not have a list of all such makers, but the ones I prefer so far are Leupold and the folks over in Orofino, Idaho whom I consider even better.... My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

I learned this lesson 30 years ago myself with a Bushnell Banner 6X. Buy all the scope you can afford or more. Leupold and Nikon are what I use with no problems (ever!), if I could afford it I would have Swaro or Zeiss.

I spend almost as much on a scope, base & mounts as I do on the rifle. I'm not going to have my shooting activities curtailed by taking a chance with low end optics.

Optics, like most everything in life, you get what you pay for. I have used cheap scopes for much of my early hunting, but as soon as I could afford better, I upgraded. Now my low end scopes are Leupolds.

There are so MANY low end scope manufactures out there any more , it's difficult to avoid them . I own a few of the Simmons and have beat the Living Sh it out of them , Mine work Well Go Figure ?. BSA ,Tasco , NcStar , Barska ,Leapers , Sightron my personal experiences with these brands DON'T BUY !. I and Shooting friends have bought some of the above and the expected results ensued , FAILURE !. Even a Weaver has now broke twice which has been mounted on a .375 H&H a fixed power no less . I sent it back too be repaired . Was informed repair or replacement was their option they choose repair. I sent it back and am now waiting for a New one ?. They are Considerably slower this time around !. ?? My Leupold Zeiss , Swarovski, IOR and Nikon Monarch & the Gold series have yet to fail me . People will say what they say from hearing stories or personal experiences. So for what it's worth this is mine . $ for $ Now Days I find Nikon extremely hard to beat . Zeiss , Leupold , Nikon , Swarovski, NightForce Schmidt & Bender, IOR and Meopa in no particular order are TOP Optics . IMO . I was allowed to shoot a friend of a friends 9.3X62 with a Schmidt Bender , a VERY NICE set up, again IMO .

Roger, Sorry to hear about your sad experience. I guess it gets back to the you get what you pay for thing. While most of my scopes are Leupolds, a couple Nikon Buckmasters, a single 3200 Bushnell and a lonely Weaver K8. A couple years ago Midway had BSA refurbs(6-24x40) for $40, I couldn't resist. The truth is that above 14x it's useless, like looking through a filthy aquarium. But from 6-12 or 14 I can't complain. Later on I bought a 4-16x which resides on a 6.5 Swede with no problems so far and for $70 it's a bargain. I think with low end scopes, it's the luck of the draw. Another thing that I found out is they are not nitrogen filled. Good luck. Stepchild NRA Life Member
