looks great, beautiful work! whats the chance of that being adapted to a Rem. model 7 ? there is nothing available that i know of and the custom tg makers say the SA 700 tg cannot be modified to fit the model 7. would you have the hole spacing for the mini x tg? thanks, Bob

Bob The 700 floormetal has the rails around the mag box parallel with the top line of the stock on the top surface and around 3 degrees on the bottom surface where the floorplate mounts. Does the M 7 have this same arangement? If so then a flat style like my miniX would not work. Tapering the rails adds another setup and maybe $10 to the cost of the part. Like the miniX, if there are 8-10 people interested in buying a M7 custom floormetal then I'd need to get an origional model 7 action, mag box, follower & spring and floormetal to insure the parts I machine will fit and function. Let me know. gunmaker

Gunmaker, Could you make a version of your assembly for the CZ 527??

I'm not very familar with the #7, but looking on the rem web site it looks like the front rec screw is so far back that the hinge mortise has to be in front of the screw. This makes things interesting, but not impossible. Can anyone post some pics of this floormetal with the plate open????? The CZ 527 has a single stack mag and to put a "normal" floormetal on would require the action to be machined wider for a new magbox and then fed for the appropiate cartridge. They are controlled round feed. Parts required to put a custom floormetal would include floormetal, magbox, new follower, and follower spring. The pricing on the floormetal should be similar to the miniX, but I'm not sure what the cost of machining the new/wider feed rails and the additional parts would total. I'd have to do one first and save the programs & fixtures so I could offer this service. It's a cool little action and with a few upgrades like floormetal, bolt handle, safety, moving the trigger farther back in the guard, could be a great starting point for a miniture custom rifle! gunmaker

Thanks gunmaker, I'm in for a Tg for the Rem 7 if there is enough demand for it. I appreciate the techinical explanination but thats over my head.I think Sunny Hill mentioned the same problem with the front rec. screw. Sorry I don't have the ability to show photos, maybe someone else here can turn one up. There were a few people intrested in steel Tg's on 24 hourcampfire forum last year sometime. Bob

I looked at some CZ 527 rifles today. Gotta get me one!! Probably in 204 Ruger. I'll use it to guinea pig some custom floormetal like the MiniX I've posted. I'm not sure on pricing but it will have to be a complete system. Starting with machining some feed rails for a double stack magazine on the bottom of the receiver, making a magazine box out of sheetmetal, machining a follower, buying, I hope, a follower spring, and making the floormetal. Looking at my crystal ball, it's looking like sometime this summer. I'll keep progress posted here. I am curious how many are seriously interested in throwing their old floormetal away and putting something really classy in it's place? gunmaker
