I think the CZ527 Prestige is a very attractive rifle. Some shooters are put off by the magazine not being flush mounted, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's a very good rifle in my opinion. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal

I wouldnt buy the prestige over the american unless you could pick the stock (actually saw it) Ive heard from alot of different sources that the stocks are very plain and not worth any extra money. My american has a plain walnut stock and shoots 1/4 TO 3/8 of an inch all day long (if the barrel stays cool)with my handloads nosler 50 gr ballistic tip 26.0 gr Reloader 15 .020 of an inch off the lands what more could you ask for? I personally think that the prestige is just for suckers. They probably pick the stock from the same batch as the american or so it would seem from the guys that bought them on the cz forum.

Personally........ Since the standard wood on standard production rifles nowadays is of very plain grain, I have decided that the more colorfull of the laminate stocks are much better looking that I am buying the laminate stocks instead. Tomorrow I am picking up from layaway a 527 .223 with the desert camo laminate. I am also picking up a CZ 452 and will send off to Elk River (reamerrental.com) for a laminate stock for it too.
