I've decided to punch out my .20 VT to .20 VTT. The VT is just not giving me the velocity I need (want). 3750 is a hot load in my gun. Hopefully .20 VTT will get me to 3850-3900 comfortably. We shall see.

Now, what to do with those old .20 VT dies??

Jordan: just back the die out a couple of turns and use them for your VTT, only the lenght has been changed. Oh and if you need a reamer, I have one that has only chambered one barrel for sale!

Yep Jordan, Duane is right. Just use your present dies. As you may recall, I was going to have Greg rechamber my 20 VT to VTT. He had my barrel all set up in the lathe ready to punch the chamber, then he decided to check the reamer print. Turned out the base dia was .380", where 222 brass is only about .3728". I didn't want a fat chamber and rather than wait to get the reamer reground, we went with the 20 Tactical. I'm using my 20 VT dies for that, as the shoulder angle and dia are the same for all of Todd's 20's.

Preliminary testing is showing me maxing out at around 4150-4200 fps for a working load with Benchmark powder. Kindler said it would be too slow, but it's actually about perfect. I find his favored H4198 a tad hyper! Let me know....

Dan,

H4198 seems a bit much to me also. Before rechambering my rifle to the Tactical from Jordan's infamous design, (sure wish someone would try one of those on a No. 1 action) I fired one round with a load of H4198, and the case split in two at the shoulder/body junction. Then after the rechambering, a primer fell out when ejecting the first fired case with H4198. I had no intentions of trying a third. All remaining loaded rounds with H4198 were disassembled.
