Help,
Does any one know if the model 1950 Mannlichers in 6.5 Mannnlicher were cut to 264 diameter unlike the 1903 which had oversize 266 barrels?
many Thanks

333_OKHIf you measure the lands and not the grooves, my 1903 is a regular .264

So, you are saying that the groove diameter of your M/S 6.5 is somewhere around .272"? If so, that is WAY oversize. They should have a bore (land) diameter of .256" or so......
I have two of the Greeks. One shoots .264" bullets very well, and the other is a dog even with .268" bullets. (Groove on this one looks to be around .272", and it would have to be rebored to at least .276" to clean it up for rerifling to .284" so 7mm bullets could be used in 6.5 M/S cases for this rifle..... in effect, a "7X54 M/S"...... Such a dummy does feed from the magazine.
