I've been offered a left handed rifle based on a Wichita action and chambered for .222 rem. Does anyone have any experience with these? and is there anything I should look out for in regards to faults?

G'day Andrew375, The Wichita actions I have seen are excellent,in fit finsh and function. There are several different models, 1375 [1.375 is diameter of action] 1200 {1.200 "" "" ""] Mini ,shell holder bolt face Classic which is octagonal type action and beutifully done. I have 2 Wichita Classic rifles and am very happy with them, they are made to a higher fit, finish standard than any production rifle I can think of. They also made a Varmint model and Silhouette rifle with the 1200 round action Some problems I have heard about but not seen personally is that some of the actions have less primary extraction than would be ideal, which is no problem if you run NOT hot loads. Pre mature extracter wear. Extractors are still available at www.wichitaarms.com I have had a chat to Nolan Jackson "MR Wichita " a few times and he is always very helpful with any enquires and there delivery service is excellent.Skip Nelson usually handles the e;mail enquires and you could not find a more helpful person. You can contact them at www.wichitaarms.com or Wichita Arms ,INC 923 E Gilbert Wichita K.S 67211 I really like Wichita rifles, actions and intend to buy more. Good luck, Regards, Charlie
