Hello. A friend of mine ordered a Kimber Pro Varmint in .204 with the Kimber scope bases and needs to purchase some Leupold rings for it. He is mounting a Swarovski AV 4-12x50mm scope and I was thinking he could get away with the "medium" height rings vs. the "high" rings with this particular scope. Would anyone know for sure if this combo would work?

I don't know for sure but I would guess "High" rings were needed. Have you tried the Leupold Ring Height Calculator on the Leupold website? You can adjust for base thickness.
