Didn't want a pink rifle but bought it anyway. I’ve got a Seven year old girl who thinks that anything pink is great. Roll Eyes So I've been looking for a good deal on a Chipmunk with a laminated stock and finally bought one for her at Bud's Gun Shop. Bud's was the cheapest I could find $139 delivered even with FFL fees that puts it about $20 less than what I could buy one local for after tax.

At least she has been after me for a rifle and bugging me to take her shooting! She is dying to go hunting with me when she turns 12. She wants to bag an elk for her first big game animal because they have "Fuzzy Jowls!" Roll Eyes I told her a few prairie dogs and varmints first, maybe then a pronghorn or deer next.

I think I'm going to have a lot of fun. dancing

Whats her mom think of that pink rifle?

Are you guys going to crack some prairie dogs this weekend after the branding?

I think you and I will be breaking in a couple of new hunters at the same time, hope we still have that same deer camp going by then, that would be a fun trip.......

Can't talk her out of pink right now she is into Taylor Swift right now.

I'll have a rifle or two, Hannah's will not be here by then.

I'm sure we can keep deer camp going for a long time to come. They can show Graybird's boy the ropes when he catches up!

Got a new catalog from Midsouth and it has a Pink Rifle Case in it. Happened to think of your daughter's rifle when I saw it.

Best of luck to both of you.

Having a daughter as a hunting buddy is really great. Good to get yours started with her own gun!

My daughter had a great time on her first safari (as a high school graduation present) and now we're planning a trip when she finishes college.

I know you will anyway, but I'll remind you... don't forget the ear protection.

BTW, my girlfriend was kind of lukewarm on getting her concealed weapon permit until she saw that she could get pink lazer grips. How many women ask for a .38 for their birthday? Mine did and I salute pink!

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

My Granddaughter just turned 3 when I saw a pink chipmunk for the first time. I called my daughter and asked if she would mind me buying Natalie who was 3, her first rifle. Erin answered that was real cool because she remembers well when I gave her the red rider BB gun she stared with 26 yeas rs. ago and that the memories were very special.

Taylor you did good!

my daughter loves watching lsu and every time i go to the deer lease she always asks when she can go shoot deers and bunnies. when i came across this limited run cricket i knew i had to get it for her. she was only a year and a half but she knows its hers and always asks if we can bring her gun when we go to the camp. shes 3 now and i figure if i want to keep her interested i might as well let her shoot it a couple times so i brought it with us on our last trip to the camp. she loved it. she didn't understand using the sights and kept trying to look through with the wrong eye. atleast thats what i thought but i have came to realize my child is gonna be left handed.

If pink is the cost of bringing women into our sport and our way of thinking about our rights, than we should consider ourselves fortunate.

My little boy already has a little cricket. His Uncle Brian (my best bud from Okla) gave it to him when he was about 3 months old. So, it'll stay tucked away in the safe until time for lessons.

Glad you found a gun your little girl will be happy to take to the range! I bet she has been tuggin' on the ole pants leg to go shoot something.

My little boy has decided he likes to sound like a turkey. He walks around making hen clucking sounds with a sort of "BOOOO" at the end that is the tom gobbling at the end. We're trying to get some video to share. Not bad for a 19 month old!!! We may be headed to Okla for the youth turkey season together sooner than I thought.

I have a feeling deer camp will be around for many moons!

thanks guys hopefully i can keep her interested for a couple more years till she's ready to really start learning. she is already in the process of learning we don't point ANY guns including plastic ones at people. the poor kid i didn't even realize she was having a hard time because she's a lefty until i looked back at the pictures. you would have thought something would have clicked when she was looking with her left eye and pulling the trigger with her left hand. oh well i geuss ill be buying left handed stuff atleast i can use them since i shoot just as well left handed as i do right handed which isn't saying a whole lot.

Works for me. My wife is heading back to Okla for the weekend and I'll have my son. We'll be looking for something to do.

Yep... Definitely Left eyed. I'm right handed in everything I do except shoot. It can happen.

She now tells me that she wants to take her pink rifle to Africa so she can shoot an elephant.

Well we got the rifle in last week and I had to play Army over the weekend for my Reserve commitment. Hope to take it out and let her shoot her prairie dog spinners this Sunday. Rifle had a busted front site when it came in Keystone is sending me another, just hope it comes in time. If it doesn't I think we can still shoot it, as the only part that is actually broken on it is the fiber optics and the rings that it fits in are still there except for one of the three.

Anyway like I said she has been hanging with me for awhile now. Here she is with my binos on a pronghorn hunt with Snellstrom. Didn't get a pronghorn that day but what an experience.

Never did get to use my binos that day!

This weekend I should have a pic of her shooting her new pink rifle!

Getting a little instruction on how to use the sites.

Talking her through a few shots.

Letting her do it, but keeping a watchful eye.

Mangaged to slip in some miature bass fishing as well.

Very good day!

Good for you guys! I'm not sure who has the bigger smile. My little girl just turned 1 last month, but I'm sure that time will fly and she'll be shooting before we know it. What you have there Taylorce1, is the good stuff that you two will remember forever.

this gives me lots of ideas, thanks guys, and wonderful pictures. and I must say, I almost hope one of mine is left handed......isn't satterlee the only option for left handed Wink

I'm seeing Pink all over the place. Walking through Wal-Mart's Sporting Goods Dept, they have kid size Pink T-shirts and hats. Then at the "Smokey Mountain Knife Works", there are a bunch of Pink knives.

Even saw some kind of Pink Air Rifle somewhere.

If it gets the young'uns interested, that is great.

I bought the same rifle for my 5 year old grandaughter. I put a Chipmonk scope on it and took it to the range to zero. Then I took a picture of me holding rifle and emailed it to my daughter, telling them it was for my grandaughter.

My daughter called me and put my grandaughter on the phone. I asked her if she liked the rifle and she said she did. I said well when you come to visit this summer we are going to the range to shoot it. Won't that be fun? She said "Sure, but can I shoot a Gemsbok?" I about rolled on the ground laughing so hard. I told her I would have to get her a bigger rifle to shoot a Gemsbok, which would be when she gets older. She said "But I want to shoot a Gemsbok".

Boy, she took me by surprise! Kids say the darnest things.
