I'm thinking about a 14" TC bbl in 17 rem as my first 'small caliber' project.
I know the smaller cases (machIV, or hornet, or bee) would be more efficient, but I do like the idea of pre-formed brass, and I just acquired 17rem dies in another trade...
Anyone have experience with this combo? How do you like it?

Anyone have experience with this combo? How do you like it?...I had a 17 in a full size 700 and TALKED to a shooter with a T/C and he was having no luck with getting it to shoot and the barrel would get super dirty with powder wash.....He got it after shooting a 17Mk 1V and wanted factory ammo similar to you.....didn't work for him.....again this is SECOND hand information and one case?....there is a lot more choices now in 17 bullets than when I had mine..HTH..good luck and good shooting!!
Thanks in advance -
Nate

Send a PM to Don Shearer or post again on the Single Shot Pistol section. Don was recently working on a Mach IV, and I think he'll have some good info for you.
