I finally tried some loads in my father`s H&R rifle in .22 Jet !
Aladin gave me a good starting point , I tried N110 with 40gr. Hornady V-max bullets , starting load was 11gr. on to 11,5 / 12 / 12,5 / and 13gr. where I had to stop (ran out of time !) primer was a CCI BR-4 .The groups tightened significantly while increasing the load density , best was a 1 MOA group (it was really cold and I could hardly feel my trigger finger , besides the scpoe which is only a 6x with german post reticle )But compared to the original Remington loads , that look more like a shotgun pattern , it is terrific to see the difference !I have not slugged the bore but the Remington bullets do measure .222 in diameter while the Hornadys are true .224 , maybe this is where the difference comes from , who knows !
