hello, as to the age of the rifle, if there is
a serial number present on the receiver, then it
is a early 1970's or newer production. Some of the older rimfires did not have numbers.
Now only you can tell if it is good. If the bore is bright and shiny, try shooting some new
ammo at 50 yards at a good target like those
shoot and see brands. expect one inch groups,
if you have a steady rest and a good eye.
