I think I want to buy a rifle chambered for 6.5 Creedmoor, mainly for plinking though I could shoot something with it.

What do you like? I have been looking at tikka’s, the ruger American, savage, etc. I don’t know a lot about any of these rifles, other than the fact that they are on the cheaper side of things.

Sauer 100 xt

Built on same machinery and using the same steel as a $6k Blaser. Barrels rolls off the same machine.

$600-$700 - shoots sub Moa. The person I known has one shooting .5 moa.

It has Remington scope mounting bases - cheap to mount optics.

Best value for money.

Cabelas Ft Oglethorpe has a used Browning Hells Canyon Speed in 6.5 Creedmore for $799. I think it’s a bargain and probably can be had for $750 or less. If I didn’t already have the same rifle it would be mine. Mine shoots basically the same hole at 100 using factory Ammo.

A young man that hunts with us bought a Tikka T3 light, we mounted a Leupold VX 1, 3-9x40 on it and right out of the box that rifle is very accurate, light and a very nice hunting rifle.

When I was looking for the Mark V I also handled the newer Weatherby Vanguards. They are pretty nice rifles and I bet they make they make a 6.5 as about everybody does today.

Ruger Amarican Predator is the best bang for your buck IMO. I have a Ruger 77 Hawkeye Predator which is pretty nice and a Kimber Montana which is ok but the American is my go to rifle.

I don't like a standard boring factory gun so I'd opt for an old Rem 700 in like a 243 and buy a quality barrel for around $350, have the work done and have a new semi-custom for around $1000.

I have two 6.5 CM rifles

One is the Ruger American Predator and the other is a Kimber Hunter

The Ruger is around $400 and the Kimber is just over $700

The Ruger has a heavy sporter barrel and the Kimber a thin ultra light barrel

Both have a detachable box magazine

The Ruger has an adjustable trigger and decent fit and finish but cant hold a candle to the quality of the Kimber

You into to accuracy or looks?? I have a Ruger Hawkeye Weather Warrior that shoots lights out. Taken quite a few deer, hogs, varmints with it. It's never failed to put meat in the freezer. It shoots 120s and 140s equally well.

My ffl just put in an order for me for a Browning Hell’s Canyon Speed in 6.5 Creedmoor. It will take a bit to arrive, but I have ordered Talley lightweight rings for it.

I've had a couple of R3emingtons and they all shot lights out with factory barrels.

Great choice. The best out of the box rifle on the market. Super accurate, lightweight, and a great feel in the hands. Slick action and great tang safety. You’ll love this one.

I have four X-Bolts and triggers are fantastic on all of them. Crisp and light. Cabelas in Ft Oglethorpe also has a Hells Canyon Speed in .243 that used to be mine with a fantastic trigger and incredible accuracy. I just didn’t really need a .243.

Try out the Bergara B14 HMR if just for plinking...or one of the other B14 models if you want to hike around with it. Excellent build quality, great trigger...it is a good gun! Everywhere around sells them for around $899-$949. The B14 Ridge and the other models are less than $800. They have an accuracy guarantee and use Rem700 scope base/rings. The trigger on mine was set at 2lbs from the factory and I left it that way. 1n8" twist..

The shooting range I got the rifle from said a lot of their 600y and 1000y shooters are buying the B14 HMR and putting the 20moa base and scope on it and are being competitive. That says a lot since I know these shooting sports can turn into bottomless money pits. To start out with a rifle under $1k is great.

I’ve been using a Kimber Hunter in 6.5cm ever since it first came out.
That’s a beautiful action! Good adj trigger and 3 way safety. I hit the stock with some black webbing spray paint for a bit of a custom look and mounted my old Leupold 2.5x8 on deck.
It taken five elk with five shots, with the Fusion 140gr Bullet. Three nice black tail bucks, including last years 149 B&C 6x4, all with the 129 Inerlock.
It’s a very accurate, low recoiling setup. I’d buy one again in a heartbeat.

Elk, it's what's for dinner..
