What are your favorite loads for 75 gr vmax in a 25-06. Just got a new Kimber Sonora and I allready had a box of vmax bullets. I also have alot of 85 gr ballistic tips. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Alan

For light bullets I like RL19 or one of the 4831's. I think 56gr RL19 is nosler's acc. load for the 85 B Tip.

I shoot a Savage 110fp in 25/06. It is "lights out" with 60gr IMR4831 and 75gr V-Max.

49.7 grains of VARGET will definitely get the 75 grain VMAX downrange in a hurry and the accuracy is pretty darn good also. For the 85 grain Noslers somewhere between 55 and 57 grains of Reloader 19 is going to find a sweet spot in your rifle I would bet!56 grains of Reloader 19 works well in one of my Senderos while another one of them likes 57 grains better. GHD

For 75 V-Max:
57.5 gr H4350
59.8 gr N160
Both give me high velocity and great accuracy. I use Remington brass and primers.

I have a custom 25-06 which is a Remington 700 action fitted with a 24 inch Lilja barrel.

My favorite load for the 75 grain V-Max is 57 grains of IMR 4831. With this load I get 3570 fps and group of a 1/2 inch. I have tried 58 grains in my gun and it is safe, but the groups open up, so I just shoot 57 grains.

My favorite load for the 85 grain Ballistic Tip uses 55.5 grains of IMR 4831. This gives 1/2 inch groups as well, with velocity about 3450 fps.

Work up to these loads from a couple grains lower charges.

I actually have had much better luck on coyotes with the 75 grain V-Max than the 85 grain Ballistic Tip. The BT is VERY fragile. I had the 85 BT surface blow on two different coyotes in the same morning. (Just blew big holes on the surface of the shoulder, did not get inside the vitals. Both had to be shot again.)
