I took both my Roberts rifles to the range today. 1st I'll tell you about little Robbie. I got my old standby load of 46 grains of H-414 under the excelent barnes 100 grain tripple shock. The load used to give me between .75 and 1.25 all day. But I have not been able to get it shoot better than 2 inches. I tried it today and this time , I trimmed my brass. Back to an inch at 100 yards. YES ! This load is 3140 FPS from my 20 inch Ruger. I then got the custom springfield out. I got 2 good groups with the Hornady 100 grain Flatt base over H-4350. The 100 grain speer over W-760 was not as good. The 100 grain b-tip nosler mixed with h-4350 was ok , but the Hornady was better. The best thing was that the same load I use for the Ruger seated abut .015 longer for this rifle.gave me . 2 bullets at .25 and 2 more at 1 inch. But the 2 groups were about an inch and a half apart. So I figured I would try them seated deeper. Then I rememberd I still had some for the ruger. They were seated about 0.015 deeper. They broke through with 3 groups none bigger than 1.125. The 4 inches of extra barrel is probably pushing that bullet up to 3200. Gotta love that. Mule deer better watch out for me next year ! ...tj3006 freedom1st

Nice TJ! Isn't it fun when you find out what you need to feed your rifles. Does your 100 grain bullet and 46 grains of H414 show much pressure? Good luck with your rifles.

There were no preasure signs I could see. The max listed load in the barnes manual is 46.5 I looked on the Hodgdon web site and they show a max of 45 grains with a spr bullet and the preasure theyt give is 44,500cup. remembering that the groves in the Tripple shock keep preasure down. If I were to go to a led core bullet witjh H-414 , I think it would still be safe. ...tj3006 freedom1st
