Hey Guys,

I just went down to the Sportsman's warehouse today and bought a Stevens 200 in a .223. A little over 300$ out the door. They didn't have the scope I wanted so I went to a locally owned shop that had it.280$ out the door. The scope is a Legend series 5X15 target scope by Bushnell. I already have 2 other guns with the exact same scope and I really like them. They've held up well on my ATV in all of the off road boonie bouncing I've done over the last couple of years.

I got it haome and trimmed off all of the molding seams on the stock and scrubbed the hell out of the barrel. It was filthy. I sat down and loaded up 40 rounds of 50gr Ballistic Tips ahead of 25.0 gr of Varget and BR4 primers.
I'm going out tomorrow to break in the barrel and sight it in. From everything I've heard about these rifle they are really good shooters for the money. Well, there went my overtime saving for the last four months. I'm just happier than a puppy with 2 peters.

I'll let you know how everything turns out.

I've shot my Stevens with bullets as light as 30gr. Bergers with very good results, along with 40gr. VMax and up. Mine will stabalize 80gr.VLD Bergers. No keyholes in the few loads I tried.

There a pretty good deal in todays market. I've heard of guy's getting them in 270 and 06 pretty cheap on sale at big chain sporting goods stores like Bass Pro Shop.
