I would like to replace the factory scope rings that came with my .221 Fireball, they are too high. Does Warne make a set and if so can someone supply me with a part number. Thanks.

Try here Warne Manufacturing Company 1-800-683-5590
The lowest you can get is Med. The bell on the reat of the scope will hit the bolt handle if the scope is to low. Hope this helps you out. Nailman.......

I use the south African Lynx rings on my cz 527 hornet and they work well. I had to buy higher ones as I use a 50mm scope...but they make lower ones as well.

uplandr, talley makes rings in .420, .520 and .580 height. std height from the factory are .580. last i checked brownells has a couple of the .420 left. you need to use a compact scope woth them so the ocular will clear the bolt handle.

Burris makes some. I got the Burris medium height and have a Burris compact 2x7 scope. I could have gone with low rings. I like these rings just fine. Ordered mine through Brownells if I remember right.

I picked up a new in the box minus rings CZ Hornet at a very good price. Called Brownells to buy some rings, ask to talk to a tech. to see what my options were. The teck. promptly informed me that the CZ Hornet took different rings then all the other 527s, and Talley was the only one who made rings to fit the Hornet. I thanked him and hung up.

Called CZ and they confirmed that all 527 took the same rings, knew that.

Call Midway and the gal I got went down the list that would work on 527s. I ended up with Millets-$28.50. I have 2 other pairs of their rings and on a 17 or 22 CF. they've held up just fine. Also told the gal she could probably get a tech. job at Brownell's, she laughted. Pedro

Tonight I finally took the time to adjust the trigger and mount rings on the CZ hornet.
The trigger took all of ten mins.-34ozs. normal pull and 14ozs. for the set trigger. It went real smooth.

The scope rings proved to be more of a problem. I had ordered Millet rings (med. is all they make) for the CZ and they went on just fine but the scope was higher then I liked to see it. So, I tried a regular pair of Millet low rings that fit Weaver type bases. They tightened up ok but there was a space between the top of the dovetail-action and the bottom of the ring.
Millet Sako rings are the same and come with an insert about .135 thick and this locks into place when the side clamps are tightened. Found some .125 alum. stock for spacer blocks but it was still loose when side clamps were tightened. Added .010 shim under it and bingo- tight.
I will shoot it tomarrow after church and forsee no problem the way I set the mounts up. Later I will machine a spacer the correct height on my mill.
By the way, the base of the bolt handle was hitting the back of the scope so I ground it down. It didn't take much grinding and will clean it up and cold blue it later. Can't understand why the factory leaves that bolt so thick right there. Pedro

PS- I'am also going to make a thinner insert(spacer) for the clip so I can seat the bullets out somemore.
