I finally got around to making loads for a cheap stevens model 200 22-250. I installed a basix trigger and found a used 4x12 VX 1 for a 150 so I figure I have less then 600 in this rifle. Shooting a 53 barnes TSX behind RL-15 produced under a .250 group. Needless to say I'm impressed with a gun I planned to keep in the truck and use it on the snow machine in the winter.

How I got a under a .250 is group is that I measure the outside and then subtracted .244 that way it should give me half .172...

I'll drink to that! They do just about as good out of the box with the stock(hard pulling) trigger. I'm still cleaning mine that I shot 2 weeks ago. They certainly hold copper. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

Shouldn't you subtract the actual bullet diameter (.224) to get your group size? I come up with .192. Still one hell of a group.

I would think this is right if going outside to outside. I am never worried about getting that close of a measurement though because i can't hold the calipers still long enough as bad as I shake. Molon Labe New account for Jacobite
