When were the sako A1 actions made. I have several custom rifles made on these actions, and really like them.

DF

Very similar to L461. Both are wonderful actions and I would use either.

What calibres did you build, if you don't mind my asking?

I prefer the L-series mostly because I like the old Mauser type cocking piece, looks nicer, both are good guns, but like in most things rifle, the old ones are best, or am I just a curmudgeon and sot in my ways..The new Sakos suck!

I had these built, all with shilen or Lilja barrels, and McMillan Sako hunter stocks.
221 Fireball
17 Rem
223
22PPC (sold, but bought a factory gun in this cartridge)
20 Vartarg (sold, regrettably)

The 22PPC was on a new in the white ppc action that I found very cheap at a gun store.

Very nice. Those are cool varminting calibres. I love the Fireball on paper. I've only.limited exposure to someones XP here amd what I have read.

Not that much varminting here so may do a 6x45 on one of mine.

Here's an oldie.....

It's a factory L461 single-shot action, that I used to build a 17-222 PD rifle a few years ago. I did later trade out the factory trigger for a Canjar single-set.

Kevin

The action became this.

Never overlook the first one that set the world on fire..The grand L-46,clip model in rifle and manlicher dress.. I have owned them in 222, 218 Bee, and 6x222 wildcat..I love the manlicher..They shot well, and didn't cost much, I kept selling them and buying them, until it caught up with me, now I can't afford one, they have gone sky high!! 2020
