Well, mine's not a K, and it's not a Cooper... (not trying to start anything there)...

But in my hornet, 12.5 gr Lil' Gun and Rem 6 1/2 primers make for bug hole groups if I can manage to concentrate long enough. The weak link is me unfortunately.

I got her in and went to the range. The conditions were not ideal to test a new rifle. Switching head wind, strong enough to pick up full size range flags made it interesting. I had to be real carefull with 175 gr match kings in a 308 to shoot bug hole groups.

all bullets tested were loaded over 13.5 grs of lil gun and CCI mag small pistol primers

36 tnt by speer in hornet brass was used for sight in and break in at fifty yards. they shot well enought but I only had 10 rounds so I can't say how well it shot at 100 but they did real well at 50 yards

At 100 I shot k-hornet brass formed in another gun then full length resized, 13.5 lillgun with cci pistol primers

35 gr v-max , the 10 shot group went 1 1/2 tall by 3/8" wide group. More powder should fix that

40 gr v-max, the 10 shot group with a called flyer (discounted ) They went into a nine shot group a 1/2" tall by 3/4" inch wide.
With most of them in a center cluster.

53 gr barnes tsx I only had 3, first shot was a called flyer next 2 went into a inch. I want to be able to head shoot some pigs at a
feeder this load will work fine.

Its time out the trigger will be adj and I will be working with neck sized brass formed in it's chamber, I should see beter results. I will load 14 grs of lil gun with the 35 gr v-max.

I am pleased with it's first trip to the range

The rifle is stable in the bag, but factory trigger was too stiff for serious testing, I have not weiged it,but it feels like 4 lbs.

The rifle has real potential, and I like the k-hornet. Its quite even at 3000 fps and shoots well enought for 150 yard blackbirds or 200 yard crows on a calm day.

Living in North Central Oklahoma, we do well to get calm "nights".

My Cooper's trigger was too heavy out of the box, but some time with the screws and all was forgiven. Well made rifles that shoot, who could ask for more.

Back to the range today.

Trigger brought down to 8 oz, its still a little heavy but I can manage for a while.

I used neck sized brass formed in its chamber.
14 grs little gun

35 gr v-max 10 shot group 1 1/8" 8 where in 1"

40 gr v-max 10 shot group 1" wide 5/8" high ,6 of the 10 were in 1/2"

This time I crimped with lee factory crimp die. I should not have made two changes at one time.

Very little wind , but enough you could not read mirage. different range no flags were out.

Having been out of the stock, it took some time to settle down.

Next time out I will have more time and do some better testing.

The only negative I got is that they only glass bedded 2 " of the barrel. Nothing behind the recoil lug or action????

Thats the same way my Cooper 22-250 was bedded. I pillar, then fully bedded the action and 2" of the barrel, cleaned up the barrel channel so I didn't have the touch on the right side and the accuracy came right around. Bedding it is worth doing in my opinion. DW
