I have a bunch loaded up from prarie dog hunt this past summer. Very accurate in my rifle. Any idea how they will do on the small white tails of the east coast?

That's a match bullet...not designed for hunting. Moreover, at 257 WM velocities, it's performance is likely to be very erratic. If you DO use it, keep it in the ribs and not the shoulder.

Yup....it really don't take much to kill a deer if one gets the classic profile shot to the rib cage.....The bullet only has to penetrate an inch or so and can then blow all to smitherenes and destroy the chest cavity and lungs.....The deer collapses almost immediately.....

One might wish he had a 120 Hornady HP if he gets a shot a lot different from that.....

Agreed. If shots are limited to broadside rib cage you will have dead deer, the further you deviate from that basic plan the less reliable the bullets chance to perform becomes.
I am assuming you are referring to Sierra's match king bullet. My son uses the Sierra 100 gr bullet spbt at 2900 fps on Oklahoma whitetails with great results.

I shoot 115 gr ballistic tips in mine. Just a personal preference. I know you're trying to use up these pd bullets. Just consider that at close range, that bullet will turn a large portion of the area you hit into garbage. Lots of blood shot meat. It's the impact velocity that does it. So, yeah, put it between the ribs if you can, not much meat there to destroy anyway.

If you want to stay at 100 grains, try the Barnes tipped triple shock. I used to get 3550 and great groups...tj3006

Having hunted eastern VA around the Yorktown area, I have seen those deer. Your 100 grain match the WBY will leave you with more hole than deer. On the bright side you will be able to pack him out in your knapsack! How far east are you? Isn't there a slug requirement starting around Newport News?

It will kill like a bomb most of the time. destroy lots of meat..on occasion one might run off and not leave a blood trail..It wouldn't be my choice..I'd opt for a tougher bullet like the Nosler partition or the Accubond. probably the accubond would be the best option.

I have shot a number of whitetail with the 117 and 120 gr. bullets and prefer them in the 25-06 so probably would use them in the WBY.

I don't remember which 100 gr Sierra bullet (Game King or Pro Hunter) it was, but my brother had one blow up on the shoulder/elbow of an antelope in Wyoming when he grabbed that box of practice bullets instead of the partitions he had loaded. That was with a .25-06.

I Shot one White tail calf this year by this same 100gr sierra hpbt buullets. Caliber was 25-284 and V0=1000m/s so i think quite close same like yours weatherby. And bullets work really well.

Bullet hit too back and it goes in just behind of liver and come out just behind of other side shoulder. Calf goes 5-10 meters before fall down and thas it. Nice blood track at hole that way what it move and nothing of blaim at bullets work. Have to say that really difficult even say difference of those animals what had shot by B-tip or even accubond.

Im not be suprising if i use this same bullets in future again. More easy to get here in Finland and work really fine. And accuracy is still best of any bullets what i had try in this rifle. But if shoot really huge male straight to front leg bones its possible get some problems but im not sure. And anyway if shoot behind of shoulder there is not any kind problem (or i think so).
Remind this all my experience with this bullets is just with one calf white tail and several birds and small predators.
