Has anyone had any luck getting these to shoot in a 260 rem? If so what was you load? I'm not having much luck with Varget.

I tried everything under the sun to get Hornady SSTs to shoot in my Remington 40x 260. Could not do it. 120 Ballistic Tips shoot ragged dot accuracy. Free men should not be subjected to permits, paperwork and taxation in order to carry any firearm. NRA Benefactor

I could not get it shoot in my Krieger barreled 260. Gave up on it and went to the Sierra 120, and the Nosler 120. Both sub .5 MOA. Both are deadly on deer. I use IMR 4064 under the Sierra and H4350 under the Nosler. Hope this helps some. PaPa 260

In a Kimber 260 Rem with 129 grain Hornady Spire Points. 48 grains of AR 2213SC (in the USA this is H4831SC) Winchester primers, Rem cases, 1/2" groups. I just don't like SST and they are not needed.

Try the 120 Nosler BT instead.....those things have their own laser guidance system in every 264 caliber rifle I've tried. If you want more weight; then how about the 130 Accubond? Verbera!, Iugula!, Iugula!!! Blair.

I have a 8.5 twist Broughton barrel in .260 Rem. My "money" load(s) for hunting both use SST bullets. Both the 129gr. & 140gr SSTs are easily sub MOA with this recipe: --fireformed Remington .260 headstamped brass; --Federal GMM 210M primers; --44gr. H4350; --OAL is mag length; The 140gr SSTs have turned in a 1" five shot group at 300yds on more than one occasion. They shoot almost as good as 139gr. Scenars that I use when shooting benchrest... Best of luck to you. Give this recipe a try (obviously WORK UP TO THE LOAD). It's put meat in my freezer consistantly.

I finally got them to shoot by setting them .010 off the lands using 39.0 grains of Varget. They shot under 1" @100 yds. Next test is 200 yds. Thanks to all that responded.

Tikka T3 Lite 22.5" barrel. Rem cases, Win primers. 129 SST + 50.0 grains AR2213sc (H4831sc) @ 2800 fps is very accurate and is good on game. I agree, 120 Nosler Ballistic Tips (40.0 BM2 @ 2950 fps in my case) are wickedly accurate. Mostly they kill very well, but I have exoerienced several failures with this bullet on game (fallow deer and nanny tahr). They have just blown up on the shoulder without pentrating. I won't use them anymore because of that.
