Just started the process myself and one range trip. Got a 3/4" group with Varget and a 115 grain Nosler BT (2950 fps). Since I have a lot of Varget I'll try tweeking the load a little and want to try Nosler 110 AB. But I'm not going to wear the tube out chasing a 1/2" group in a hunting rifle.

Don't forget BL-C 2. I have had great results with this powder in most calibres up to + including .308. The performance on the 22 + 25 calibers is outstanding. It's worth your time to play with it. Never mistake motion for action.

IMR 4064 has always been crazy accurate in the 250 Savage for me. 120 gr Nosler into sub 1/2” groups. DRSS Kreighoff 470 NE Valmet 412 30/06 & 9.3x74R

well if those 4 above don't give you an area to look in I don't know where else to point you. 2 are one burn rate and the other 2 are right next to it... [shrug]

RL 17 is the powder with bullets of 100 grs and up in the 250 AI. IMR 4350 is good with the heavier bullets as well

250-3000 basically will shoot pin holes with about any powder, its the least picky caliber I know of and the most consistantly accurate round in hunting rifles, much the same as the old 222 Rem..My 99s shoot like bolt guns or better than most..Just a great little cartridge.. in my Sierra book they say they use the 250 AI for all their 25 caliber accuracy testing. If you have tier book try looking there or on their website. I have a 250 Sav and most everything works well. I can only assume the AI works about the same just a bit more room for powder. Leo The only way to know if you can do a thing is to do it.

Rule of thumb with a 250 IMP. increase the book 250/3000 reloading manual load by 5% for the IMP version, and go from there perhaps, perhaps not..Thats usually my workup with most IMP calibers..works for me. Since the .250 AI has a much greater case capacity increase than most all other AI cartridges, Ray’s suggestion is perfectly safe, particularly in a bolt action. This is confirmed by the data in Sierra’s reloading app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/...al-v6-0/id1450071966 .

I'll agree with Hasher about the IMR 4064, it is super in both of my 250 Sav's and just the same or better in all my 250 Sav Ackleys. Steve...... NRA Patron Life Member GOA Life Member North American Hunting Club Life Member USAF Veteran

today Iwould work up a load with CFE-223, that stuff really does clean your bore while you play.. I use a lot of H414 also, but none of my 250s are Imp. I like the imp version but my guns are collectable 250s and I don't intend to change things there...Besides the std 250-3000 is a sweet little non recoiling super accurate round, it just fine like it is..If I really wanted a hot 25 Id probably snag a 25-06 its a great caliber.. That's one of the cartridges that I have not use but I'll bet it's a snappy little round! I want one! I use a 222-250AI and it's pretty awesome in it's own right but for a different purpose. Zeke
