Has anyone on the board here tried the Berger 6.5 VLD bullets in their Swede or 260 Rem. on game such as white tail or mule deer? I was impressed with the article in one of the gun magazines (either Rifle or Handloader) where they used the Berger VLD bullets in New Zeland for hunting ... mostly high velocity .25 and .30 calibers. This has made me very curious about the lower velocity 6.5's and if they would give the same type performance. With the high ballistic coeficients of the Berger VLD, high velocity wouldn't be needed.

Grove, Read the same article by John Barnesness. Got my curosity up also. Ordered the video from berger. Looks interesting. However I have such a supply of different 7mm and 30 cal bullets I have not tried the Bergers yet. JB posts as "mule deer" at 24 hour campfire. You might check it out there. GWB

I have not taken any game with the 6.5 VLD although I have shot the 130 grainers in my 260 40XB and they are VERY accurate. I have taken deer with the 175gr 30 caliber VLD in my 308 and they are deer killing machines. Free men should not be subjected to permits, paperwork and taxation in order to carry any firearm.
