I called my gunsmith the other day.
To ask a question about an old mauser I bought , and ask weather he would be open on saturday. And since he said yes, i told him I would bring the mauser out and show him.
He said if he put 2 screws in, my custom springfield will be done.
So asuming the 2 screws are in I will be picking up Big robbie on saturday.
Its a low numberd springfield 03 (action made in 1905) and has a 24 inch douglas sporter weight barrel.
I took it back to him a while back to be checkerd and have a better looking recoil pad put on her.
Went with a fancy Flour de lay and a pachmyer old english.
I broke my digi came but i,ll find a way to post a pic asap.
I am going to buy her a Vx2 3X9 tommorow.
I am excited to see her.
I am going to load up some 117 grain Sierra pro hunters over 46 grains of RL-22 .
Aliants web page shows 46.5 as giving 2945 and only 4800, cup.
The low numberd springfield thing makes me keep my preasure down to 50,000.
Il, mount the scope and shoot her again.
Its proved its self with real mild loads as very acurate. Now I need to find a hunting load or two. I,ll try to post a picture of her with out the checkering.

The 2.5X8 its got on in the picture in an one of my other rifles now. I went with gloss.
I,ll use burris z rings I think.
Loaded up some 117 grain seirra game pro hunters over 46 grains of RL-22 , and some 100 grain balistic tips over 44 grains of IMR-4350.
