I had a really nice used CZ 527 in .222 follow me home from the local gun shop yesterday. It is in absolutely 100% condition. I thought I'd post a pic of the wood on this thing and see if others would post theirs. I've noticed CZ puts everything from really good to boar oar quality wood on their rifles. It pays to keep your eyes open, as a fellow had just traded this in and I knew what he got for it, and seeing as I work sort of part time at the gun shop, I got dibs on it. When I got it home, it sucked up a Weaver 4-16 Classic with dot reticle, and I can't wait to shoot it. The fellow who traded it in was carrying some targets he'd shot and they were VERY impressive. I also polished the sear and trigger surfaces, and the trigger feels like glass with snot on it.
That is nice wood. I have a .221 Fireball that I just purchased, decent but not as nice as yours. Saw a 22 Hornet last week in a gun shop, had the nicest wood on a CZ 527 American I've seen yet. Called today, was still there and I will p/u tomorrow
I wouldn't mind having a hornet, but I hear all kinds of rumors of poor accuracy. Anyone have a CZ hornet? My neighbor had a Ruger hornet that wouldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
My wife has a CZ Hornet, and she consistantly shoots under 3/4 inch groups with my hand loads (13 Gr of Lil'Gun under a 35 gr V-Max). BTW, her best group to date is .395. Pete

Bobby, I found this one's older brother in a small shop in the Ft Worth/Dallas area two years ago, also in 222. Beautigul wood. My wife bought it for my Christmas present year before last.

I have one just like it with less than 50 rds. through it so far. But I want to tell you it is a real joy.I had a real blast using some of the contemporary Blue Dot loads. The only non performer so far has been Hornady's Barrier bullets. Just can not get them to group. Everything else in the CZ shows a lot of promise. Enjoy! roger

I'm really happy you guys are liking the .222 CZ, I've shot this one once and it shoots really well, but then again I haven't seen a CZ that didn't. It is a sweet little rifle. I will be taking it groundhog hunting next week, Lord willin', but I really didn't have a good use for it when I bought it, but I suppose you don't need a reason to own "just one more".
