Is it possible to rechamber a ruger No.1 in .223 Rem to the German rimmed 5,6x50R Mag? The idea is a single shot rifle in a rimmed varmint round. I know, there´re many other´s, like the .219 Zipper or the .225 Win, but I don´t want a too exotic round. The 5,6x50R is made by RWS and Hirtenberg and so I can get factory ammo here in Germany.
Thanks for helping.

Martin

Great project!

Don't know about the smithing but the round will exceed your expectations. From 24" 55gr - 3,400fps, 60gr 3,300fps. If the 223 has a SAAMI twist (ie tight) you should be able to use the new(ish) sierra 65gr gameking BTSP - fantastic roe bullet that will be. From 26" velocity is going to be impressive.
