Have an MRC action on the way and am going to make a rifle for my grandsons. I want to be able to shoot the full range of bullets availabe for the 250-3000. Which twist would be best for a 22 inch barrel? 1 in 8 or 1 in 10?

10" is perfect as is 22 inches, though my personal custom 250-3000 has a 22.5" barrel w/ a 10" twist. Get a very light contour, a 250-3000 should be nice and light, assuming it's for hunting deer/antelope. I'd also consider having a somewhat longer than standard throat put in, which will help with the 100s and the 115, 117, and 120s especially.

For ALL weights of .257" bullets now available, a 1/10" twist is plenty!!

Got the action and it is smooth. Now I need find a source for brass. Any ideas?

Midway, Grafs, Natchez all had it. Seems to be available only in Winchester (unless you find old inventory of Remington somewhere).

get 22-250 brass of your choice and run it through your full length sizer. a tapered expander like those in lee dies makes the job easier. i've been doing this for several years. the last batch of 250/3000 brass i bought was about $30 PER 100. 22-250 BRASS CAN BE FOUND FOR LESS THAN $20 if you hunt and buy in volume.
