Been a pretty long time since I have been on here! I have changed direction about 3 times since I was last here. Okay, the subject line says it all?
Here a couple months ago I put a 6.5 Grendel AR Platform together, my oginal thoughts was to let a real good friend deer hunt with it. Well the way things turned out I ended up with a lot more money in it, so I can't loan it out!! I put it togehter and it sat in the safe for over a month before I went and shot it! Thuth is my back has really kept me down and every time I was thinking about shooting it the back fired up and back to the bed I would go. Here a couple weeks ago I had a morning that my pain level was livable but, I forgot I hadn't loaded any ammo for it, so I did something I have never done and that is dump and load. I have allways beam scaled every rifle round that I have ever loaded, only good thing was I had preped some brass and it was ready to load and also I made a sweet deal on a New Redding Micro powder dump and I had set the Grendel's powder load up, so I powder 10 cases strait from the dump and loaded them with 129gr A Max (I think) and went out and shot it! I just couldn't believe how it shot!!!!!!!!! I was useing front sand bags only, and I shot 2-5 round groups, the lastgroup you could cover with a nickle but the first one was just big enough that you couldn't completely get them cover by a nickle!
To the guys that don't know me, I have a destroyed lower back so my life is all about guns, if I am in bed I am reading and if i get any relief time I am in the shop.

Right after the first of the year I guess I was about to burn out on the AR's, put my first one together in 1984. I have this good friend that has a lot of money and he is a gun guy to and he buyers all those $9.00 and up Gun magsizens and when he has read them he brings them to me. So I got to reading about how easy the Savage action was to rebarrel ect. I ended up with a real nice action and a new Lilja 260Rem Ackley Imp. barrel, it made since to me because they both can us the same bullets! I will be bench rest shooting only and not comp. just my self.
So I ask, if any of you guys have owned both and might give me the low down.
