Well got to the range today and took out my HS and all my new handloaded ammo. I had 15 rounds of 40gr Berger, 15 rounds 40gr Ballistic Tip,10 rounds 26gr Varmint Grenade, 5 32gr Vmax. All were loaded with Varget, 27 gr with the 40gr loads,25gr with the Grenages. I had a one hole group with 4 shots with the Btips, the Bergers shot moa but nothing special, and the 26 grenades grouped very nicely, another one hole with the first 3 shots, 4th was just to the right. The 32 gr Vmax shot just about as well as my last factory group. Tried 5 shots with the factory 39gr Sierra, and they were moa as well.
All in all quite satisfying for my first batch of handloads.
I may try going to 26gr's from 25 on the Grenades, I'm very happy with the 27gr load on the ballistic tip. I may try some 748 with my Bergers the next time out. I did leave my OAL right a factory spec. for the 40gr and well below that for the Grenades.
