Was going thur the safe today putting a number of rifles away for the rest of the winter. Had bunch of individual packages of Rem oil cloths that I wiped them all down with. Then I remove the bolts as it lets me put a few more rifles into the big safe, seems to me that bolts are the cause of most safe kisses that occur on wood stocks. I hoping that Rem oil is a good product to use over the winter. Gents have any other thoughts. Thanks Greg

I have always religiously used G96 for all my firearms....well that was until the local supply dried up. I was put onto Rem oil & found pretty darn good - Now I'd still go and buy a case of G96 if I could find it but would still be happy if Rem oil was all I could get. I'm pretty pendantic about cleaning my rifles and are very happy with this product.

I've used and assortment of gun oils over the last 60 years. Can't say I've seen much difference if it's well applied. Last ten years or so I've just used common Automatic Transmission Fluid from Walmart. It's as good as any and a little better than some. I keep an ATF wet patch in a zip-lock baggie in my gun safe, wipe 'em down before I close the door and have no problems in a moderately humid southern environment.
