I plan to use some 221 Fireball brass to form some 20 Vartarg brass.
Apparently all that is needed is full length size the FB brass in the 20 VT die.
I am new at this and would appreciate any help comments on the best way ie lube,trimming.etc.

Thanks in advance.

Beryl:
You should have no problem doing what you described. Your formed cases will still have the 23deg Fireball shoulder, and the 30deg Vartarg shoulder will look great after fireforming. Most likely you will be able to use your initial loads as you wish, not wasting bullets just to fireform.
I attached a link to some 20 Vartarg data.

Mulerider,
Thank uou very much for the info.

Do you lube the brass any differently than you would with a " same size" die?

I use either Lee lube or Imperial Sizing lube; nothing special on use, just try and use "just enough".
The case shoulder is fairly safe, due to the initial shoulder angle difference.
I use a dry lube in the case neck, if necessary.

Enjoy!
