Some match shooters have had pretty good luck with VV N550. But generally speaking most have gone back to the 80 grain bullets from Sierra or Berger for 1,000 yard work. Jerry Tierney has done some work with the 90 grainers and you can follow his thread here: http://www.usrifleteams.com/lr....php?showtopic=11444 "Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading".

IMO ; 90's are to heavy for the .223 . I stay with 69-80 and all seems right with the world .

The link does not work. From what I have read the 1-7 will be on the edge of stability.

Why, with any length and twist of barrel, do you want to shoot this heavy of bullet with this caiber?

Works for me. You may have to open an account and log in for it to work. It's a good forum for anyone interested in long range shooting so have a look at joining. I think you'll like it. Blair "Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading".

Those 90 grain bullets at 2700 fps are quite formidable! Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too! Recent college grad, started a company called MK Machining where I'm developing a bullpup rifle chassis system.
