Is anyone here using H335 in their 22-250? I've used it successfully in .223 with lighter bullets and a 45-70 for some hot loads, but I'm not seeing many references to it in a 22-250.

The reason I'm asking is I've got some on hand, and am looking for another powder to try in mine. Varget has been good, but there are others out there that may work even better.

FrownerIn my older 22-250 I've used wcc844 which is suppose to be a surplus equivalent of H335. Never had great results. If you get some DP85 it is proving out top shelf. Super stuff. BOOMroger

I don't think I ever tried H-335 back when I had a 22-250. My records (from over 12 years ago!) showed that I had best results with H-380, Accurate 2700 and IMR-4350, mostly with 55 gr bullets. IMR-4064 seemed to work pretty good with the 50 gr bullets. I think H-335 is much more suited to the .223 Rem and similar smaller cases. Roger's suggestion of DP85 is probably rock solid. I sure have been enjoying my DP86, which I bought based on his postings. I don't really have a rifle that DP85 would be optimal in, besides, I have to use up 24 lbs of DP 86 before my wife (and probably the fire marshall) will let me order some more in bulk.

Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

I haven't tried the H335 but, can see it in the future.

I don't feel it's too fast for the 250 by any means, some of my best accuracy in 22-250 is from AA2015 which, is much faster than H335.

My best results in 22-250 with 50-55grners has been with H4350, H4895, AA2015BR, Varget, DP85, & H380. H4350, AA2015, 52 Amaxes, & 55NBTs have proven to be very consistently accurate and well below 1/2moa in my XR100.

Good Luck
