Anyone had any experience with a 17 CCM? Have a chance a Cooper 38 in 17 CCM. I have everything else under the sun in rimfires and small centerfires. Thanks... Mark

Do you have a 17WSM? Similar velocity to a 17CCM. I just bought a Volquartsen 17WSM. It's a shooter. I don't have to load for it. VC is about the same cost as a Cooper rifle.
I love .17 rim fires and center fires.
Just a suggestion unless you really just want a Cooper. I have a Cooper 57M in 17HMR and it's deadly accurate.

Yes,I haven a Ruger 77 in 17wsm. Super wood on this one but wouldn't group worth a darn. Sent it to Ruger on their dime, got a new barrel and some trigger work. Now it's one hole at 100 yes lights out. I also have a Cooper 57 in 22lr custom black walnut stock heavy barrel. Also have several hmrs and a couple Mach 2s. Just thought a 17 CCM would be a little different. About run out of stuff in small calibers. Thanks for reply...Mark

It would be pretty unique. I've never seen a CCM rifle or a piece of brass in person. If you can get ammo/brass then it would be fun to play with. Pretty similar to the rimfire 17's I would think.

17ccm is lots of fun! Especially if you enjoy being able to stay in the scope for impact while using a walking weight rifle.
Amazed me what that little cartridge would do!
If you run enough of these varmint rounds so many do the same thing. The 17ccm impressed me.

Brass can be a bugger to find, and that is the only real downside. It has been years since I went hunting for brass so there maybe a new source. I don't believe there ever was loaded ammo produced.
Of interest to some perhaps.
The elder President Bush has/had one, that and they had a devil of a time keeping his Secret Service guys from burning up his ammo.

I've got a barrel for a TCR-87 in .22 CCM from the old Thompson-Center Custom Shop. Since the .22 CCM has about 300 fps over the .22 Win Rim Magnum, I would guess the .17 CCM would have the same velocity edge over the .17 HMR. And with a centerfire one can generally find an accurate load for a good rifle.
