I did with a couple of boxes of 130s I had..

had fun doing so, and shooting long distance at the range, but the increase in cost stopped me from using them regularly...

I was using plain old 4064, 40 grains...

tried them both in my Swede and my Model 70 Custom...they shot very well..

With my strong modern action in a Steyr Pro hunter I was loading 47 and 48gr of reloder 22 with the 140gr Berger.
I just got a batch of the 130gr hunting Berger bullets to try out. Won't get to this project until the fall. FS

Fasteel, what kind of accuracy were you getting with that load?

I shoot the 140 Bergers in my 6.5 X 55 Swede out to 1000 yds. The load I use is 47 gr of H4350 w/Fed 210 primers. Very accurate.

Thanks you gentlemen. I have tried all three of these powders, and in all cases I stopped below your suggested loads. I will work up.
Peter.

VV N560- max book load is 50.2gr and we have been getting 2950-3000fps with Lapua brass, 50gr of VV N560 and Federal 210M primers.

That has been from 22.5" Blaser R93 semi-weight barrels on three different rifle barrels and all shoot in the low .40 range.

Thanks Dave. I don't have any VV560, but if you know of anyone who has a 6.5 barrel for an R93....
Peter.

Dave I did PM you. Not sure what a semi weight barrel is though! Right now my 6.5 reloading has come to an abrupt halt as I have a stuck case in the sizing die. The shell holder ripped off part of the rim and my stuck case remover (RCBS) is not removing it, even after freezing the die. Unless someone has some good suggestions, I may have to send the die back to RCBS and have them remove it. I don't have enough leverage with the relatively short allen wrench supplied with the remover.
Peter.

Peter, use a bolt instead of that screw. You will get more purchase on the hex head. If it strips, you will probably still have enough case left to tap to the next size up, but I can't imagine it being stuck that hard.

I think, therefore, I am, conservative.

Put some penetrating oil around the case and die where it is stuck. Leave it for a few days, then try again. This will usually ease the task of removing the stuck case.

Gentlemen, thanks for the suggestions. I was able to get the case out by using an allen wrench with a much longer "handle" ie. more leverage. So I am back in business. The VLD loads I was trying were at the "upper end" but groups were not spectacular from my Rem 700 Classic. Very frustrating as my accuracy load is VERY accurate, but at the lower end of the velocity spectrum (2298 fps).
Peter.
