Unlike some of the "Hornet" bullets, I'm unaware of any speed limit for them. I'm sure there is one but I've read of 4500 fps + for the polymer tipped bullets and others. Think that twist rate certainly affects this but you'll probably run out of pressure limits before the bullets come undone. | |||

.224 50 grain SPSX goes 3850 in my 22-250 with 100 percent reliability. It IS the absolute splat master bullet. | |||

tsmysak-- Bullets fail on the way to the target by centrifical force, not purely velocity. So your question means little unless you specify the twist of the barrel. For instance---- A factory 220 Swift (4110fps) from a 1-14 barrel is rotating at 211,320 RPM. From a 1-12 barrel its turning 246,600 RPM. | ||
