Reorganizing my loading room, I discovered about 10 lbs of these bullets. Ordered a double batch of them from Grafs to feed my Winchester model 92, 25-20. Literally loaded with these bullets. Can they be used in a 250 savage case to plink hunt with? I also have a wildcat made up on an Interarms mini Mauser that was a 7.62x39. I put a pactnor match barrel on it and chambered 25 PPC. How fast could you drive these bullets? Could you use 6 PPC start data? Could be fun!

I doubt being able to drive those bullets fast enough with any of the cartridges you mention to exceed their structural integrity. I did vaporize some .25 caliber bullets years ago, but they were 60 grain Win OPE driven at almost 4200 fps from a .25-284 wildcat with a 27" barrel.

6PPC data for a 75 grain bullet should be an excellent starting place for a wildcat .25 PPC. You should be able to push them up around 3,000 fps or a little higher from that case. Personally, I would slow them down a bit and use them for casual shooting from either/both the .250 Savage and the .25 PPC.

I've found Alliant Blue Dot works wonders in modestly reduced loads. Start with a charge that is about one-half the weight of the water capacity of the case (not one-half of the case volume). You'll be able to work up a bit from there; I like to stop when I've reached about 80-85% of the velocity of full power loads. However, I don't recommend "freestyling" it unless you have both a chronograph and substantial experience with load development.

I have a 256 Win Mag Contender, they might work in. Do you want to sell me 100 or so to try?

They worked well in a 250-3000 I had, but I can't remember the twist in that particular gun..you just have to try them and see...They sure won't work in my 25-35, I got two FOOT groups and tore up my wood homemade target frame. I had a Rem mod 25 in 25-20 and they worked good in that one..

My first foray with these bullets was with a .25-06. I was in my teens and couldn't figure out at first what that puff of smoke was about 30 yards out. I still use them in my 25-20s.

Speer use to produce a 60 grain Spire Point .25 Caliber bullet which shot very well in my .25-20 Winchester Model 43 rifle. I have use the flat point 75 grainers in my 43 receiving great accuracy using IMR-4227 or IMR-4198 powders.
