My understanding is that Ruger did make a 10/22 in .17HMR, but there were lots of problems with it (I believe many split case necks). Remington once marketed their 597 in .17HMR too, but it was evidently a POS. Both were dropped.

Volquartsen makes semi-auto .17HMR rifles that get good reviews, and Savage recently introduced their hard-to-get A17 which also has gotten good reviews.

Savage just introduced the A7 .17 HMR semi-auto. It utilizes a delayed blowback action that prevents brass failure issues.

Ruger's 10-22 action could not handle the pressure of either the .22HMR or .17HMR. It needed to be totally reengineered which Ruger deemed unworthy of the effort and profit margin.

Magnum Research produced the .17HMR which also had issues and were rebarreled to .22Magnum.

Volquartson is the only semi auto .17HMR that I am aware of that was able to be built with a large enouph beefed up bolt to handle the pressure with accuracy to boot.

The Brno 617 is listed as 17 HMR however it seems new.

I have the Brno 611 in 22 mag and it's the finest quality of it's type I have seen.
